Program Schedule |
Modules in this program focus on powerful emotional intelligence topics, principles, strategies, and best practices for leaders, managers, professionals, and entrepreneurs. All sessions are held live online via Zoom. Sessions are presented in a highly interactive format that enables participants to easily engage with the instructor and other participants, including joining in small group work and networking opportunities.

Session 1 Thurs, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm |
In this module, participants will be challenged to enact courage, leverage ambition, and identify their leadership aspirations. Participants will also gain valuable insight into their strengths and will learn strategies for engaging in strengths-based leadership. |
Session 2 Fri, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm |
In this module, participants will explore their own bias and assumptions as well as learning skills for leading diverse teams with psychological safety and inclusion. They will also begin recognizing how strength based team principles bring higher performance in all types of teams.
Participants will benefit from an in-depth evaluation of their social capital and explore ways to strengthen their developmental, operational, and strategic networks and widening their scope of influence. |
Session 3 Thurs, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm |
In this module, participants will focus on generosity and culture building. Students will also look at their own leader character - focusing on strength based communication, unconscious bias, and leading high performance teams. |
Session 4 Fri, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

In this module, you will retake the Emotional Intelligence Assessment to track your progress and identify how to better apply concepts learned to your current professional and personal life's challenges. You will create a specific, strategic plan to utilize the power of emotional intelligence and intuitive decision making. You will identify consistent, daily practices you can employ to chart a path to improve your relationships, to build and motivate yourself and your team, to proactively address challenges and resolve conflicts, and to become a more dynamic and emotionally intelligent leader.

Instructor Bio |
Donna Milakovic, HonDB MS Lead Instructor | UVU Executive Education
Donna Milakovic serves as an Associate Lead Instructor for the Women’s Leadership Program at UVU Executive Education. She served previously as Senior Director of Community Outreach & Economic Development at Utah Valley University and in technology commercialization at Utah Science Technology and Research Agency (USTAR) where she launched a Robotics and Internet of Things technology acceleration program. Before USTAR, she served as Executive Vice President at the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and has spent nearly 10 years in non-profit management and government advocacy. Donna earned her MBA from Utah Valley University and her BA degree in English from Brigham Young University. She is also Certified in Non-Profit Management through the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management and is a Certified Gallup Strengths Coach.

Rudy Vidal Managing Director | Vidal Consulting
Rudy Vidal is an accomplished speaker, author, and consultant with more than 25 years’ experience in guiding organizations to higher performance.
Rudy’s approach focuses on internal and external customer experiences as drivers for organizational management effectiveness.
Rudy Vidal has spent his career developing holistic models and hands-on tools to design and deploy best practices in today’s most challenging business environments. He has successfully held numerous executive and C-level positions in fortune 500 as well as emerging growth companies. He is now fully devoted to speaking and coaching organizations from around the world, to achieve extraordinary efficiencies and growth through a systematic focus on aligning the organization to the customer values.

Val Hale, Master of Arts, Communications Retired Executive
Val Hale enjoyed a 40-year career working in the media, in higher education, in the private sector and in state government. Most recently, he was Executive Director of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Prior to that assignment, he served as President and CEO of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce and as Vice President for University Relations and Advancement Vice President at Utah Valley University. Before joining UVU, Val worked for 22 years in the Brigham Young University Athletic Department, including five years as Director of Men’s Athletics. After graduating from college, he spent a year as a newspaper reporter for the Provo Daily Herald.
Val earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from BYU in public relations and communications. He has been active in the community, serving on many boards. He and his wife, Nancy, have three children and 13 grandchildren and enjoy golf, skiing, snowshoeing, backpacking, pickleball, woodworking and riding a tandem bike.

Kelly Hall, DBA MBA Director, Women’s Business Leadership Initiative | UVU
Dr. Kelly Hall serves as Assistant Professor and Director of the Women’s Business Leadership Initiative at UVU. She previously served as an Assistant Professor of Management in the Stetson School of Business Administration at Stetson University. She is an Outstanding Innovator Award and Distinguished EMBA Professor Award recipient both awarded by Stetson University. Kelly previously served as Branch Manager at Raymond James Financial Services Inc. and as Senior Training Delivery Specialist at JPMorgan Chase. Kelly earned her Doctor of Business Administration in Management from Kennesaw State University – Michael J. Coles College of Business and her MBA from Stetson University, and she is a Certified Executive Life Coach.
