MBA Foundations is a targeted, non-credit course series designed to help incoming MBA students build or refresh essential business knowledge prior to beginning their graduate studies. Based on prior academic background or professional experience, students may be assigned one or more courses from the series to ensure readiness for the rigor of an MBA program. Each course is structured to deliver practical, skill-based learning aligned with the demands of graduate-level business education.
The series includes three courses: Accounting, Data Analytics, and Finance. Each course focuses on core competencies—such as interpreting financial statements, analyzing data using industry tools, or applying financial models and valuation techniques—that students will frequently encounter throughout their MBA. By completing the assigned course(s), students will enter their program better prepared to engage with complex business topics, contribute confidently in classroom discussions, and succeed in quantitatively driven coursework.
