Surrounded by red rock and clear skies, step into the stillness of Capitol Reef National Park. Learn how to incorporate mindfulness into everyday life. Rejuvenate with sunrise yoga, calm the mind and body with guided meditations and mindful walking. A mandatory pre-trip planning meeting will be held one week prior to the trip. Participants stay at the UVU Field Station and food will be provided. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting the week before. Transportation is not provided.

Tai Chi for Health and Fall Prevention (TCHFP) developed by tai chi master Dr. Paul Lam of Australia is an introductory tai chi form. This form is the only one endorsed by both the National Arthritis Association and the CDC. Medical studies have shown that regular practice of tai chi improves balance, cognitive skills, and reduces falls. It also can help reduce stress. Classes are open to individuals who are capable of walking one block at a slow pace. If there are any doubts whether medically fit to attend class, individuals should consult their doctor prior to registering. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and comfortable flat shoes.
