- LIFESTYLE MEDICINE ESSENTIALSLehi Campus
-
Explore the evidence-based lifestyle behaviors that help prevent chronic disease and support a longer, healthier life. Over four engaging sessions, you'll explore the six pillars of lifestyle medicine through the lens of real-world evidence, cultural insight, and hands-on experience. This is not a lecture series — expect interactive activities, lively discussion, and even a singing bowl meditation session along the way.
Grounded in the American College of Lifestyle Medicine curriculum, this course guides you through the behaviors and habits most strongly linked to preventing chronic disease and supporting a longer, more vibrant life. Optional resources and deeper-dive materials are woven throughout, so you can follow the threads that feel most relevant to your own health journey — at whatever depth suits you.
This course pairs seamlessly with Whole-Food Essentials for a comprehensive look at how lifestyle choices and nutrition work together to support long-term health and longevity. Each stands alone beautifully, but together they offer a remarkably complete picture.

- Identify the six pillars of lifestyle medicine and describe how each contributes to disease prevention and long-term well-being
- Connect evidence-based lifestyle behaviors to real-world examples drawn from Blue Zone communities around the globe

- JAPANESE FOREST BATHING (SHINRIN-YOKU)
-
Registration for this course is now closed.
If you have any questions, please call 801-863-8012.
Originating in Japan, Forest Bathing (or Shinrin-yoku) is a mindfulness, embodiment, nature connection practice. This transformative practice transcends traditional notions of outdoor recreation and invites you to engage with nature in an entirely new light. Forest Bathing is a gentle invitation to slow down, immerse in the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and tastes of the forest, and to wander freely without any destination in mind. By tuning into the rhythms of nature and the wisdom of your own inner landscape, you’re invited to experience deep relaxation, insight, and a renewed sense of (re)connection with yourself, your community, and the natural world.
Learning Outcomes:
- Practice basic forest bathing techniques that encourage slowing down and mindful awareness in nature.
- Engage the senses to deepen connection with the natural environment.
- Experience simple mindfulness and relaxation practices that support personal well-being and reflection.
