This program consists of 10 live, instructor-led class sessions on Zoom in which participants develop their knowledge and skills, as well as demonstrate their competence, dedication to excellence, and capacity to perform at the highest level in the specific project management skills for which employers are seeking. This sessions explores the foundations of project management, the skills of effective project leaders, and the objectives of serving as a project leader. |
Session 2 :: Project Methods |
This session identifies how to select a project methodology to fit your organizational needs and how to communicate effectively in project environments. |
Session 3 :: Project Teams |
This sessions covers assembling and empowering project teams, including coordinating with virtual teams, and gauging project team performance. |
Session 4 :: Project Scope |
This session teaches how to manage project scope and how to integrate business analytics into project management. |

Bret Skousen MS Professional in Residence, Woodbury School of Business | Utah Valley University
Bret Skousen serves as a Professional in Residence / Dean's Executive in Residence at the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University. He previously served as COO at MyFast PC/HFN/Bask, as EVP & Advisory Board Member at MX (MoneyDesktop), COO & Advisory Board Member at Tribaly (City Square), SVP at Mountain America Credit Union, and as Director at Black & Decker. His 30+ years of executive leadership at these companies have resulted in a business acumen that is both broad and deep. At tech companies, he created and executed corporate OD, Marketing, PR, and Business Development strategies which resulted in explosive growth. He has implemented completely new sales, marketing, and product development processes from which the first product developed resulted in a 50%+ increase in profitability per user. He has managed sales territories that consistently over-performed expectations by 15 - 20%. As a testament to his passion for building high-performing executive teams, he was responsible for creating BDHHI University, where Black & Decker leaders are trained, groomed, and developed. Bret earned his MS degree in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego and his BS degree in Business from Brigham Young University. He is also a Certified Executive Coach.

Dr. Connie Barker serves as Adjunct Faculty at Utah Valley University. She also serves as Regional Project Manager of GlobalView Americas Project Services at ADP. She previously served as Supervisor of System Performance and as Implementation Consultant at ADP, as Data Manager with Galton Technologies, and as Quality Assurance Software Tester for Novell. She also served as Adjunct Instructor at Columbia College teaching courses in Compensation, Benefit Systems, and Workforce Planning and Employment. Connie earned her PhD degree in Organization & Management from Capella University, her MA degree in HR Management, Training & Development from Webster University, and earned two BS degrees in Computer Science Information Systems & Business Management from Utah Valley University.
