Still life is the best way to learn how to paint realistically, and is as simple or creative as you wish because you are in control. Learn object selection, staging, composing, paint handling, color mixing, and value control. Paint anything from a childhood toy, a family heirloom, or even your favorite food, you get to choose. All skill levels are welcome.

Mosaics have decorated walls, floors, and public spaces for thousands of years. Working on a 12x12 flat panel, move through the complete mosaic process from layout and tile cutting through attachment and setting, building practical skills at every stage. A brief look at the history of mosaics and how they have been used across cultures adds context and inspiration to your own creative work.
Most students complete their mosaic within the three sessions and take it home ready to display. All materials provided.

Start with the basics of sewing and the mechanics and care of your sewing machine. Learn how to read and use a commercial pattern and how to choose fabrics. Master seam finishing, casings, hems, ruffling, and buttonholes. Projects include pillowcase, pajama pants, and an apron.

1. Master fundamental sewing techniques, get familiar with your sewing machine, read commercial patterns, and execute seams, hems, casings, ruffles, and buttonholes .

Paint outdoors using a portable sketchbook while focusing on observation, composition, and capturing a sense of place—rather than creating finished studio pieces. You’ll work in watercolor or mixed media, learning how to simplify complex scenes, work quickly, and adapt to changing light and conditions.
Locations are easy to access with minimal walking, making this experience approachable for all ability levels. The first session explores natural landscapes; the second focuses on urban and architectural sketching. No prior plein air experience is needed—this is about building confidence, not perfection. Previous watercolor painting experience recommended.
Bring a sketchbook, basic painting supplies, and weather-appropriate clothing. Folding stools or lawn chairs are optional but recommended.
