    • This is the dramatic story of the Transcontinental Railroad. Tunneling by Chinese immigrants and grading and rail-laying by Civil War veterans linked Omaha and Sacramento and authenticated our “Manifest Destiny”. Heroes: Lincoln and Theodore Judah. Villains: Thomas Durant and Collis Huntington. Victims: American Indians whose Great Plains resources were destroyed. We will remember 20th century railroading and show the diminished state of passenger rail in the United States today.
