Clubs   

Are you interested in regularly speaking German in your day-to-day (or week-to week) life? Club time will be spent sharing anecdotes written in German by members or other interesting literary sources. Your accent or translation don't have to be perfect. We are here to help each other keep the German language alive in our lives. This group will meet every other Monday of the month from 3-3:45 p.m. during terms. The first session was September 22, but it's not too late to join!

This club meets on the dates listed below at 4 p.m. online and in person at Central UMC during the term. Reminders will be sent a week before and the meeting link will be sent the day of each club meeting. The theme of the year will be Libraries and Librarians. Do you like to play cards? Join the Hearts Club on Mondays from 11:15-12:45 during terms in the Colosseum Room at CUMC.  We play the card game Hearts and talk and laugh, oh do we laugh! If you know how to play, make sure to register (it's free) so we can notify you of any changes in dates or locations. This club will meet year-round except for December and July. Come join us!

Knitting is the new yoga for the mind! Come join us for knitting and sharing ideas, helping each other and just having fun. We welcome all levels. This club will meet year-round except for December and July at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays at CUMC in the Lifelong Learning Lounge.

The WoCo LLL Mah Jongg Club is a relaxed and fun gathering where LLL members come together to play and enjoy the game. There will be no formal instruction during club meetings. Just a time to play and have fun. We do have house rules so we can all play on the same board; rules are available for members to review. To join you must be able to play Mah Jongg and have your own 2025 Mah Jongg card. This club will meet year round except for December and July at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays at CUMC in the Norton Room.

The Spanish Conversation Club will consist of one hour each week speaking Spanish to each other. No English will be allowed! We will help each other express ourselves in Spanish -- all levels of accomplishment are welcome! Our topics of discussion will be news of general interest and our own stories. Join us for a mind-bending word-seeking experience! This club will meet on Tuesdays at 3-4 p.m. during term at Central UMC's Education Building in the Lifelong Learning Lounge.

Wine Club Events:

Please make sure to register so that you can be notified of the club's activities. If you would like to host a wine club gathering please reach out to Lucy Woodhouse for more information. All Wine Club events are hosted by members of the wine club. The club meets depending on the host preferences. In the past, meetings have been held at wine shops, local restaurants, and on Wofford's campus in various locations. The theme of the gatherings is set by the host and we have had various themes from varietal to blind tastngs or by wine region, however other ideas are encouraged. It is up to the members of the club to generate club meetings. Staff are on hand to assist in logistics and ideas but ultimately the host gets to decide on the meeting details. Don't be shy to offer to host or find a friend who will host with you. It is fun and very rewarding!
