Clubs   

Are you an avid reader of mysteries? If so, this is a new kind of book club you'll enjoy because we only read mystery stories. Each month you'll have a 4 x 4 bingo card with the title of a book to read in each square plus four free squares. The object is to get bingo by choosing the three titles that you want to read (the fourth being a free square). Each month has a theme such as mysteries set in SE Asia, those with the WW II era as a backdrop, those set in libraries or involving stolen art or those having a sleuthing couple, etc. When we meet we will share a summary of our books along with some other facts outlined on the bingo card. All titles will be available at the public library so no need to purchase anything. Whether you savor a cozy murder mystery or a classic whodunit, you'll enjoy learning about a variety of mystery novels and new authors in the friendly setting of our club. The club will meet on the following Tuesdays at 2:45 p.m. throughout the academic year. A reminder will be sent a couple of days before the club meeting dates.

The Spanish Conversation Club will consist of one hour each week speaking Spanish to each other. No English will be allowed! We will help each other express ourselves in Spanish -- all levels of accomplishment are welcome! Our topics of discussion will be news of general interest and our own stories. Join us for a mind-bending word-seeking experience!

WoCo LLL Book Club will meet on the dates listed below at 4 p.m. in Hybrid form - BOTH in person at CUMC and via ZOOM. This format allows friends from across the country to join other book lovers to do what we all love to do, READ and discuss what we have read. If you can't make all the club meetings, no worries. If you want to read and discuss just one book, that is OK too. If interested, register yourself for free for the WoCo LLL  Book Club so we can stay in touch. No pressure. This is a fun group of folks who engage in some great discussion.  Book Club will read seven books during the academic year.

Join movie buffs to watch and discuss movies that relate to a theme. Film Club meets online three (3) times during the Fall and Spring terms and one (1)  time during our Winter term on Tuesdays at 4:00 p.m. via Zoom starting in September to discuss films you watch before the Club meeting date. If you can't make all the club meetings, no worries. If you want to see just one movie, that is OK too. If interested, register yourself for free for the WoCo LLL Film Club so we can stay in touch. The LLL French Conversation Club is a highly social group open to advanced beginners and intermediate-level French speakers. Our club meets weekly throughout the year to chat about past and current events in France and worldwide. This club will be held at the home of one of the club leaders, Miclo Wall who lives in Summit Hills. 

Knitting is the new yoga for the mind! Come join us for knitting and sharing ideas. We welcome all levels. This club meets weekly during terms on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m. 

In 2024-2025 the LLL Wine Club will meet in person at different venues around town after meeting for our first one via ZOOM to explain the changes to the club format and to bat ideas around where we will meet. We will explore different wines and learn a little something along the way, but mostly we will enjoy the gatherings with LLL friends and savor a glass of something delicious. All Club meeting times will be 4 p.m. on a Thursday during 3 of our 4 terms (we won't meet in June). 

Participant members registered for the Wine Club will be given directions to each venue about 3 weeks before the Club meeting dates. The first meeting date will be Thursday, September 19, 2024 via ZOOM.
