This is a 16-hour course that must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard. The course provides the student with detailed information on the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command systems, and terrorism. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course.

The course provides the student with a general overview of the duties and responsibilities of a security guard. The passing of an examination is required for successful completion of this course. Participants must be age 18+ for licensing and have a valid Social Security number at the time of training. For most employers, a driver's license and HSE is required.

MVCC's Center for Corporate and Community Education, in conjunction with the College's Airframe and Powerplant Technology program, has developed a program to prepare qualified candidates to successfully complete the Federal Aviation Administration's A&P certification examinations.

This A&P test preparation course is tailored to the individual student’s needs and certification focus. This 80-hour course , along with recommended self-study hours, will help prepare you for the FAA’s written, practical, and oral exams. All required knowledge-competencies will be covered in the categories of General, Airframe, and Powerplant.

This course shows you how to create a worksheet used to adjust the account balances and prepare the financial statements. Use your financial statements to measure performance, make improvements and set goals. The final step covered in this course is closing your books and preparing them for the next accounting period; this is done by journalizing and posting closing entries.

This course covers CPR and AED use for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or anyone who wants to be prepared during an emergency. Topics covered are choking and AED use for adults and infants. Students who pass written and skills tests receive an AHA e-card that is valid for two years. The cost of the card ($22) is included in the tuition.

CPR and Basic Life Support for Health Care Professionals. BLS CPR (1 & 2 rescuer) BVM Ventilations, choking, and AED use for adults, children and infants. Students that pass written and skills tests receive an AHA BLS ecard that is valid for two years.

This course will address the social patterns of harassment, bullying, and discrimination including, but not limited to, those acts based on a person's actual or perceived race, color, weight, national origin, ethnic group, religion, religious practice, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or sex. It will also cover the identification and mitigation of harassment, bullying, and discrimination and strategies for effectively addressing problems of exclusion and bias and aggression in educational settings. Successful completion of this course will meet the certificate requirements in 14(5) of Chapter 102 of the Laws of 2012.

The New York State Education Department requires this class for licensed professionals, including physicians, physicians’ assistants, specialist assistants, dentists, dental hygienists, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, optometrists, and podiatrists.
