Nurse aides are the vital link between patients, RNs, and doctors. Get New York State-certified with this accelerated 120 hour course that combines 90 hours of classroom and lab instruction with 30 supervised clinical hours of training. Upon successful completion of the program students are registered for and take the NYS certification exam.
Training Requirements: Successfully pass a criminal background check, pass two reading comprehension tests, proof of a current physical exam, vaccinations, and TB test results.

The classroom and lab portion will be held on the MVCC Rome campus. Clinical dates are tentatively scheduled for 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

This workshop satisfies the New York State Education Department's requirement for two-hour school violence prevention training (SAVE). The course focuses on issues relating to violence and safety for school-age children from both the identification and prevention perspectives. Topics include abuse and neglect, abduction, substance abuse, traffic and fire safety, and violence. Teachers' legal responsibilities, dangerous behavior identification, intervention techniques, effective classroom management, and promoting positive attitudes and behaviors will also be discussed.

The classroom and lab portion will be held on the MVCC Rome campus. Clinical dates are tentatively scheduled for 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm, June 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 at Colonial Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Rome.
100% attendance (120 hours) is required to complete the program. Do not register if unable to commit to the schedule.
Also, before being considered fully registered all students must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination, immunization records showing two MMR doses and a completed physical within 12 months of class start date.
