This program will familiarize you with various aspects of the medical laboratory and provides a certificate and skills required to work as a phlebotomist in a hospital, laboratory, or medical office. Intense classroom instruction is combined with individualized clinical practice. Medical requirements before clinical include a physical within one year, TB test results read within three months of clinical start date, positive titers or proof of two Mumps Measles and Rubella (MMR) and two Varicella vaccines. A Tdap or Tetanus toxoid within 10 years and seasonal flu shot are required. Tuition includes an insurance fee. Purchasing the textbook is optional but highly recommended.
