Since its creation in 1948, the state of Israel has been involved in a total of no less than 10 military conflicts with its Arab neighbors and/or its Arab/Palestinian population with no apparent sight for an ever-elusive peace for Israelis or Palestinians. After briefly reviewing the era preceding the creation of Israel (covered last semester in Part I of this program) we will examine these wars /conflicts, exploring the circumstances that caused each one of these confrontations and their inconclusive outcomes.
