You will learn how to use a black pen to enhance your drawings using line variations, cross hatching, stippling to create shading, and 3D effects. We will use pens to enrich watercolor or ink paintings to give you stylish finished painting. For beginners, you will learn about the tools that can be used to start your drawing such as a Camera Lucida, opaque projector and carbon transfers and reference material will be available. Experienced artists can create their choice of images as the starting point.
Students purchase their own supplies: Bristol paper, pads or boards, Pilot Precise V5 brand liquid rolling pens in fine point (or a fine point steel tipped pen that is water resistant). A kneaded eraser, a #2 pencil.
Optional supplies: watercolors, inks, brushes, colored pencils.
