This course is designed as an introduction to the process of self-publishing literary works. Inspiring authors will learn the creative process of transforming their literary ideas into a publishable book.
Topics include: (1) Determining the literary genre, (i.e., fiction, nonfiction, children's literature, inspirational, how-to-guides, and novels versus novellas); (2) Determining the topic, content, and style of writing; (3) Editing your book; (4) Designing your book cover and illustrations; (5) Formatting and preparing your material for publishing; (6) Launching and Publishing; and (7) Marketing.
Course material included with registration: Ready Writers by author Becky DeWitt. Students may also bring computers or iPad for course activity.
