This six-week genealogy computer-based Zoom course will focus on utilizing historic newspapers to take your genealogical research beyond just the basic information about your ancestors. While finding census records, vital records, military records, and land records will give you the “bare bones” of your genealogical research, newspapers will bring your ancestors to life. This course will assist you in finding news accounts of your ancestors’ exploits.
Students are advised to complete a 5 or 6 generation chart to the best of their ability to enable them use their own family to access different newspaper websites.
