This course is for participants who have previously taken the Introduction to Watercolor Beginner Course, or those who have previously painted and have knowledge about watercolor painting.
You will be expected to know the color wheel, how to mix colors, how to use paint, paper and brushes to achieve different effects. This Watercolor Open Studio is for participants who want to pursue more advanced techniques and are encouraged to paint watercolors of their own choice and style, whether realistic or abstract. Guided instruction and constructive critiques will assist you in becoming a more confident painter. Your paintings should be on full size 9x12 watercolor paper.
Required Materials: Participants will need to bring their own supplies using the list below.
Watercolor paints (NO NEON!), Watercolor paper (Strathmore or Arches 9 x12), Watercolor Brushes (ROUND Small #2 or #3, Medium #6 or #7, Large #11 or #12. FLAT 1" brush), Carbon or transfer paper, Pencil, 2 cups for water, Painter's tape (NOT masking tape), Paper towels, Brown Cardboard or board 12 x15 (this can be from delivery box), Empty paper towel cardboard roll, Palette to mix colors (10" round or square)
These supplies can be bought on Amazon or at a local art store. The most important supplies are good quality paper, a few good brushes and a quality set of primary color watercolors.
