This course will celebrate the work of Mary Oliver, who is one of America's premier nature poets. She spent a lifetime deeply considering such topics as presence, life, loss, grace, silence, and longing. Additional class material will cover subjects such as beauty, transformation, the wonder of animals, and poetry as a form of meditation. Mary Oliver's voice made a unique contribution to American poetry. Come join us as we experience the magic of her heartfelt verse. The book "Devotions" by Mary Oliver is the course text and will be the touchstone of our discussion sessions.
