Sewing - Simple Alterations & Hemming

Spend an afternoon with Lee Ann Hittenberger, an experienced seamstress and costume designer and you will learn so much about altering your own clothes! You will learn how to take-in an oversized shirt, make darts, take-in side seams and take up the cuff. Also learn how to: take a hem, set up for sewing and hand hemming. Bring straight sewing pins, hand needle, scissors, matching thread and your shirt, and skirt or pants that have been sitting in your closet for far too long and need hemming. We will get you set up, marked and ready to go. You can also bring anything that has a pesky hole in it and we¿ll show you how to make a simple or decorative patch. A personal sewing machine recommended but optional. Contact the instructor if you need to borrow a machine or have questions. For high school students 15+ and adults of all ages!
