Steel Toe Teens is a 5-day indoor/outdoor summer camp created by Washington Women in Trades where girls, ages 11-14, will learn the basics of tools; safety, mechanics and skills from trained, experienced women in careers in the trades. Yes! They’ll learn to use power tools! Learning objectives include the basics of tool use; safety, mechanics and skills. Students will work together just as they would on a job, learning to respect and connect to create a project. Trades include (but are not limited to) masonry, carpentry, pipe trades, sheet metal and more.
