Discover Voice-Over: commercials, audiobooks & animations

In what could be the most enlightening 2 hours you have ever spent, this class will show you how you can actually begin using your speaking voice for commercials, films, videos, and more. In this introductory class, you will learn about a unique, outside the box way to break into this creative, fulfilling, and potentially lucrative industry. Voice-overs can be managed on your own terms, on your own turf, in your own time, and with minimal overhead! Whether you choose to pursue voice-overs part-time or full-time, this could be the game changer you've been looking for. 

In this class you will learn how to use this unique water based opaque paint which was used by illustrators for years, as well as being extremely portable for home use or plein Aire. We will start with the basics of painting so that you will have the tools to paint whatever you desire in the future in whatever medium you choose. Values, color wheels, color theory, positive negative space, shadows, and of course how to set up your palette and how to chose paints, brushes, palette, and palette knife. How to care for your new art tools. Learn how to avoid the most common mistakes everyone makes.

 

Celebrate the World of Sparkling Wine This class is a deep dive into the fascinating world of sparkling wines, exploring their diverse styles, production methods, and geographical origins. Students will learn about the key differences between popular sparkling wine types, such as Champagne, Prosecco, Cava, and other sparkling varieties, understanding what makes each unique. The course covers essential production techniques like the traditional method (Méthode Champenoise), tank method, and others, and how these techniques impact flavor, texture, and overall experience. For students 21+ (identification required). Some food/snacks will be served to enhance the experience, but it not required. 

Learn the fundamentals of drawing, from line quality to shading, from proportion to perspective, in this engaging class. You will master the basics of drawing natural and man made objects, as well as drapery, allowing you to realistically render single objects and still-life arrangements. Come explore and improve your drawing skills in a supportive and affirming environment! Experienced students as well as those new to drawing are welcome, as the instructor is able to work with all levels. Supply list to be provided by the instructor.

This course is designed to be accessible and welcoming to adults from all backgrounds. The experiential and relational format creates space for diverse perspectives and lived experiences to be part of the learning. Nervous system awareness and mindfulness tools are practical skills that transcend cultural background, and the group setting is intentionally structured to build connection across difference. As a first-generation immigrant and coach with a background in diverse professional environments, Jigna brings personal understanding of what it means to navigate systems and spaces that were not designed with you in mind. In this six-week series, you will build a real mindfulness practice from the ground up. Each session combines nervous system awareness, breath work, and somatic tools in a hands-on, relational setting. Leave with skills you can actually use, not just an understanding of the concept.

Through hands-on practice and expert guidance, participants will unleash their creativity and learn to transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art. LEARN TO WEAVE ON A TABLE TOP LOOM - In just one class you'll weave a couple of cotton washcloths on a tabletop, rigid heddle loom. It covers all the weaving basics: loom set-up, color changes and finishing. Once you learn to weave, the possibilities are endless including scarves, pillow covers, towels, curtains and cloth for sewing. Weaving supplies and handouts are included. If you want to bring your own assembled, working rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8 dent heddle, please contact the instructor at HeidiBennettwa@gmail.com to ensure it will be suitable for this class and type of weaving project. 

For students 15+ and adults of all ages. Some walking around a table required. Please note that no scented products or perfumes should be worn during this class.

STUDENT REQUIRED SUPPLIES

Students required to bring scissors (to cut yarn), a pen and these specific yarns:

• 3 balls (100 yards each) of 100% cotton yarn (size #4):
  • Lily’s Sugar ‘N Cream Walmart, Fred Meyer or online
  • Loops & Threads Classic Cotton #4 at Michaels
  • Or any worsted weight, 100% cotton at your local yarn store. 
• Select colors that work well for stripes and plaids and no more than one variegated color. Avoid pure black and white yarns. 
• Students who plan to use their own rigid heddle loom, please contact the instructor to ensure it will be suitable for the class project and to obtain the loom accessory list.
