Hobbies and Crafts   

You must have an annual membership to register for any of our classes. The annual membership runs from August 1-June 30. If are not a member yet, click here and add a membership to your shopping cart. Once you do that you can begin to add classes to your shopping cart. If you are only interested in our Special Events or our Lunch and Learn series you do not have to be an annual member to register for those offerings. 

Please be aware that classes and events may be canceled or schedules may change at any time. You will be notified if you are registered and changes are made.

  • Creative Writing and Publishing

      Times: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

    • Instructor: Bill Pell, Linda Powers

    • The course offers participants instruction and feedback on writing short fiction and poems. A one-act play and perhaps an essay are also possibilities. A goal is for as many participants as possible to produce publishable material. Lifelong Learning at Wofford will sponsor the publishing. The editors, Bill Pell and Linda Powers, will decide on the material to publish. The course is a unique creative writing and publishing opportunity in an increasingly difficult world to find publishing outlets even for quality material.

    • Everyone dreams. When we remember them they can seem very mysterious, even ominous, but they always fascinate. We will explore theories of dreams, examine our own dream experiences, and learn ways to work with our dreams to discover what they are saying to us. Please note: if you know you will be missing more than 1 class in a row during the term, please wait and sign up during a term that you can attend all the classes. This class builds on itself from week to week and missing multiple classes will diminish the other all experience for yourself and others in the class.

      Times: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

    • Instructor: Nancy White, Robin Fierce

    • MahJongg is a fun, social game to play. Come learn the basics of the American version of this ancient game of the Mandarins. We will begin with a lecture and quickly advance to playing this fascinating game utilizing 152 tiles.
