- Change your life through food. Join the Culinary Educator and Registered Dietitian of Spartanburg Regional's Culinary Medicine Program in their newly renovated teaching kitchen for a hands-on cooking series. In four classes we will cover eight or more different culinary techniques to make home-prepared meals easier, fun, and support optimal health. Leave with a full belly, leftovers, and raw foods to practice your skills at home. This is your chance to connect the dots for food as medicine, enjoy local foods when available, and ask the burning nutrition questions you and others may have. Attendees will receive an apron and cookbook. Please register only if you can commit to all four sessions. Students are responsible for their own transportation to the Gibbs Cancer Center located in Greer. A $40 fee will be added to your cart to cover the cost of food.
Website Tip! There is no charge to add yourself to the waitlist. Adding yourself helps us know the interest for the offering and in many cases we can add more seats or schedule another section and it is free to do so.

In this class, students will learn the basic painting skills. We will explore layout and design, tonal values and color exploration, all while learning about the medium itself. Six to eight paintings will be finished by the end of the term. Subjects will range from still lifes to landscapes and possibly animals. Students will work not from other artists' paintings, but rather from photographs. Beginner and intermediate painters are welcome! Students will need to bring their own supplies. Supply List A $10 Artist Fee will be added to your registration fee to cover the cost of the artist instructor.

Dreams fascinate us. They are mysterious and complex. Everybody dreams, but some of us remember our dreams better than others. Working with dreams is both a practice and a spiritual discipline. With practice, we can all learn to unlock our dreams to discover what they mean to us. In this class, we will explore basic dream theory, primarily from the teachings of Carl Jung. We will learn to listen to our dreams in order to understand ourselves and our world with greater clarity. Classes will be open discussions. Confidentiality and respect are paramount. No one will be required to share, but an atmosphere will be cultivated to encourage curiosity. Journals are encouraged. There is no required reading. Handouts will be provided.

Gardening should be fun! During this six-week course, we'll explore practical ideas that make gardens healthier, more beautiful, and easier to maintain. Topics include simple landscape improvements, easy plant propagation, choosing pollinator-friendly plants, and plenty of tips gathered from years of hands-on gardening experience. Classes are presented through lively lectures with colorful PowerPoint illustrations, so there's no weeding or digging required. But don't be surprised if you leave each class eager to grab a shovel when you get home! Gardeners of every experience level are welcome.

In this relaxed and fun class, we will present the basics of fly fishing technique, fishing equipment, fishery conservation, and traveling to fish. Ellen King, a certified casting instructor, and Joe Cheatham, fishing and equipment aficionado, will join us to enhance the classroom discussions and the casting practices. We will provide group and one-on-one instructions. This is a fun and relaxed way to learn about this beautiful sport or hone your existing skills. We will have 1-2 days of fishing on the water and a surprise guest or two. We hope you will leave the class with an appreciation for the sport and an interest in water and fishery conservation. Equipment will be provided for use, but if you have your own, please bring it to class. Everything in life is better when you are fishing!

Mah Jongg is a fun, social game to play. Come learn the basics of the American version of this ancient game of the Mandarins. We will begin with a lecture and quickly advance to playing this fascinating game using 152 tiles. Students will be responsible for purchasing a 2026 Mah Jongg Card ($15). Directions on where and how will be included on your registration receipt.

From cell phones to high-end 35mm based cameras, we will sharpen your skills and solve photography issues. Bring your camera(s) and your imagination. Most people stop taking pictures because they don't understand how the science of cameras works. We'll examine the fundamentals of how a camera works—you may never put a camera down again! The class is available to all levels of photographers and is centered on fundamentals including: how all cameras work, how to set up and operate any camera, photo terms and equipment, and how to take a great picture. After learning how to set up your camera, you will receive short and easy assignments to build your skills. If you took this class in Summer of 2026, come back to build on the foundation you started. If you are new to the class, join us in this community of classroom learning. A $2 instructor supply fee will be added to your registration.
