In this class, students will create two paintings over the course of four classes: one still life and one landscape. Instruction will cover composition, color and techniques. We will work from photo images. Students will be responsible for their supplies. Surprise yourself with uniquely personal expressions of your artistic inner spirit.  Using easy techniques and mixed media (found objects, decorative papers, paint, colorful cloth, yarn, beads) this course is for all art levels. Three projects will be completed: Spirit Doll, Personal Shrine and Mandala Journal. The 12” no-sew doll is made using quilt batting, fabric strips, and a simple wrapping technique. Decorative elements are glued on. For the shrine, a 9 x 6 x 3” foam-core shell will be decorated with paint, paper, found objects and other embellishment techniques. An introduction to mandalas will be given while creating a simple, easy stitch, 16 page 5 ½ x 3 ¾” journal. Artistic evolution and happy surprises will be encouraged throughout the course. A supply list of items will be provided in your receipt notes and a $10 fee will be added to your cart to cover materials.

We will draw on the flatbread traditions of Sweden (Limpa) , Finland (Rieska), Italy (Focaccia), and Turkey (Baslama) for our journey into international flatbreads. All our breads can be made quickly, in a morning or afternoon, to serve as accompaniments to either lunch or dinner. We will meet through Teams to discuss, prepare, and bake our breads. Participants will work in their own home kitchens and will use their own equipment throughout the project. There will be a YouTube site for the course where participants can see brief videos for the methodology of creating each bread. So besides being interested in baking breads, students must be a bit tech savvy to join this online class. We will host a practice session the week before class so students can test their connections through Teams. 

Change your life through food. Join the Culinary Educator and Registered Dietitian of Spartanburg Regional's Culinary Medicine Program in their newly renovated teaching kitchen for a hands-on cooking series. In four classes we will cover eight or more different culinary techniques to make home-prepared meals easier, fun, and support optimal health. Leave with a full belly, leftovers, and raw foods to practice your skills at home. This is your chance to connect the dots for food as medicine, enjoy local foods when available, and ask the burning nutrition questions you and others may have. Attendees will receive an apron and cookbook. Please register only if you can commit to all four sessions. If you took this class in Fall Term 2026 please note that some recipes may be repeated. Students are responsible for their own transportation to the Gibbs Cancer Center located in Greer. A $40 fee will be added to your cart to cover the cost of food.

We’ll show you easy shortcuts, creative tricks, and simple techniques to help you personalize your projects and create something special. Come discover how easy it is to turn your ideas and photos into something you’ll be proud to share! Note: ensure your device is capable of loading Canva prior to registering for this class.

The course will cover the following : Safety lane courtesy, proper ball handling, proper footwear, how to approach the lane, where to aim the ball, and score keeping. Students must provide their own transportation to Paradise Lanes, 469 E. Blackstock Rd., Spartanburg. Students must be able to lift ten pounds and have good balance. An $80 fee will be added to your cart to cover the cost of equipment and lane use.

Have you ever wondered, "What is the best way to wake up my garden for spring planting?" If so, then this course is for you! We’ll learn about the proper tools you need and how to use them, the do’s and don'ts of soil amendments, pollinators, and pests vs. beneficial insects. Come out to the Goodall Center, located on the edge of Lawson’s Fork Creek in Glendale, SC, and join us in the garden for some hands on fun. Students are responsible for their own transportation to the Goodall Center.

Students will learn the fundamentals of knitting: casting on, binding off, knit stitch, and purl stitch. They will make a dishcloth and will begin a scarf and will learn how to fix the most common mistakes. A $65 fee will be added to your shopping cart to cover the cost of yarn and supplies.

This four-week continuation course is for players who already know the Mah Jongg tiles and can read the NMJL card. We will focus on the skills that turn that knowledge into confident game play: practicing the Charleston, learning to evaluate a starting hand and choose a promising line, adjusting as the game develops, and playing complete games. Each class will combine brief instruction, guided practice, discussion of decisions, and plenty of table time. Students should bring their current card and be ready to play!

We'll make a Shutterfly photobook online. To do this, you'll need a Shutterfly account (free; a charge for the book, of course). The price of your photo book will depend on its size, number of pages, book cover and style (expect $20-$50). You CAN spend more, but Shutterfly frequently offers big discounts. You will need to bring to class: your laptop, a large selection of pictures supporting an idea of the theme you want to make a book about (e.g., holiday photos, vacation photos, family photos, or simply a variety of random photos). Class 1 - How to choose a book, and what pictures you want in it. Class 2 - How the pictures can be organized into the book. Class 3 - Starting your book on Shutterfly. Class 4 - Continue work, and hopefully finish your book.

With traditional handcrafts making a major resurgence, there has never been a better time to learn needlepoint. Whether you are entirely new to the craft or an experienced stitcher looking to refresh your skills, this workshop offers something for everyone. We will begin with a beginner-friendly kit to establish strong fundamental techniques in a relaxed, supportive setting. Come enjoy great conversation, community, and the satisfaction of creating something by hand. This class may be taught by more than one instructor from the shop due to work schedules (each instructor will be highly competent in needlepoint and instruction). The last class meeting will be held at Needlepoint Lane in Spartanburg (students will be responsible for their own transportation). A $45 fee will be added to you shopping cart to cover the cost of the needlepoint beginner kit.

Remember when you had fun drawing as a child but never got past the fifth grade learning new drawing skills? Perhaps you stopped altogether yet continued to love art. What if you could go back and learn some new drawing skills from a fun, structural approach? We'll cover topics of line, shape, value, perspective and composition and learn how to "see" to draw. Join this opportunity to enjoy creating art again by learning from an award-winning art teacher. This class is for all who want to enjoy art! You will learn by doing and will have fun assignments to discuss in a classroom setting. A simple supply list of materials you will need will be included on your registration receipt. Note: If you took this class in a previous term, you may also register for this term if you would like a refresher.

Have you learned the basics of American Mah Jongg but now you want to improve your game? This class is for you. Enhance your gameplay with additional tips and strategies so you can become a better player. Students should be able to play a game without outside help. If you are a beginning Mah Jongg player, please do not sign up for this class.

From cell phones to high-end 35mm based cameras, we will sharpen your skills and solve photography issues. Bring your camera(s) and your imagination. Most people stop taking pictures because they don't understand how the science of cameras works. We'll examine the fundamentals of how a camera works—you may never put a camera down again! The class is available to all levels of photographers and is centered on fundamentals including: how all cameras work, how to set up and operate any camera, photo terms and equipment, and how to take a great picture. After learning how to set up your camera, you will receive short and easy assignments to build your skills. If you took this class in summer or fall of 2026, come back to build on the foundation you started. If you are new to the class, join us in this community of classroom learning.  A $2 instructor supply fee will be added to your registration.
