The beauty of exploring swaths of the Southeast today (including Georgia’s heartland), is that those “big stories” from the hazy past are still there, lying fallow in a gorgeous, rolling countryside; and in quaint county seat towns. Let’s explore central Georgia, and uncover a surprisingly rich array of stories: spanning early settlement and encounters with the Creeks; Georgia’s political elite; and even shifting state capitals.
