Welcome to Lifelong Learning at Wofford

Aging in Spartanburg

A nine-month seminar series

Starts January 2027.

Registration and more information will be available October 1.

Lifelong Learning at Wofford will offer a 9-month series with partners across our community to learn more about what to expect as one ages, how to make the most out of aging and how to connect to others and their community.  Aging is living and we want to help older adults live their best lives in Spartanburg.  During the series students will gather information and resources to help them on their aging journey. At each session there will be a reflection time with Dr. Ashley Garrett and Dr. Kara Bopp to explore the Wellness Wheel, a visual self-assessment tool used to evaluate personal health and balance across core life dimensions.

The series will run every month through October, except July, on the 2nd Friday of each month from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Cleveland Park Recreation Center. The cost of the series will be $250 that can be paid in full or in installments. Scholarships are available for those in need of financial assistance. The first class will have a maximum capacity of 30 participants.

More information and the application to participate will be posted here October 1. Class members will be selected by December 1 and the series will start January 6 with an orientation session at Central United Methodist Church in their Education Building.
