- Chart Your Course: Maritime Career Exploration Experience
-
Curious about a career on the water? This no-cost, weeklong maritime exploration program introduces participants to welding, diesel engine repair, refrigeration systems, and vessel operations and deckhand skills. Learn directly from captains and maritime industry professionals through hands-on activities, vessel visits, and real-world demonstrations designed to help you explore career pathways and build employable skills for the maritime industry in our region.
Open to ages 16–29 in Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.
We'll send you additional information by email, but for now, plan to wear clothes that can get dirty along with waterproof boots or other closed-toe shoes. You'll be working outdoors, on the water, and around machinery and tools that may be dangerous.
This experience is part of the Westport Maritime Futures program developed in partnership with Emerald Coast Communications, Maiden Voyage, and The Helm. The Westport Maritime Futures program is 100% funded by the US Department of Labor Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Career Connect Washington through an award totalling $243,000.
