Did you attend a painting party and now have an interest in developing your skills further? In this introductory course, learn the theory and practice of acrylic painting. Explore color mixing, the color wheel, values, and basic color theory and principles. Complete your first painting using a monochromatic color scheme. By the time you have completed this course, you will have developed the skills and knowledge to continue on in your learning of how to paint with acrylics. This class is a continuation of the Basics of Playing the Button Accordion, Level 1. In this session, students will advance to following basic music sheets with scales already learned and will be able to play easy songs while accompanied by a Bajo Sexto, played by the instructor.

Students must have their own button accordion in the key of GCF. Prerequisite for the class is the completion of Beginning Button Accordion Level 1. A materials fee of $10 is due and payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Ages 15+ welcome. Learn how to start tracing your family history by surfing the Internet. A course for individuals new to Genealogy or who have come to a road block and need direction on how to create, research, and enhance their family tree. Your experienced instructor will introduce you to the many different internet programs that can assist you in the research and building process. Basic knowledge of personal computers and the Internet is required to take the class.

We will provide a large variety of glass for you to choose from to create your colorful butterfly. Using an adhesive sheet, you will adhere pieces of glass to a wooden substrate. This is a grout less technique. Cutting skills are helpful but not required. A supply fee of $30 is payable to the instructor.

Interested in improving your Spanish? This course is the continuation of the basic level. By the end of this course, you will have the necessary tools to access the conversation course. We will delve into the grammar, expand vocabulary, and begin to work with simple conversations that help you make the leap to a conversational level. This class is taught by Jorge Luis García Ruiz, a very experienced Spanish teacher. Prerequisite: Spanish for Beginners.

Lights on the Riverwalk, chili pepper wreaths, steaming mugs of hot chocolate with pan dulces…let’s create some winter greeting cards with a San Antonio twist. The instructor will demonstrate watercolor and ink techniques to create unique and beautiful designs. At the end of the workshop, you will have three festive cards that you can share with family and friends.
