Did you attend a painting party and now have an interest in developing your skills further? In this introductory course, learn the theory and practice of acrylic painting. Explore color mixing, the color wheel, values, and basic color theory and principles. Complete your first painting using a monochromatic color scheme. By the time you have completed this course, you will have developed the skills and knowledge to continue on in your learning of how to paint with acrylics. Let’s get a little salty! In this workshop, you will explore some cool washes and salt techniques to create cards that embody calming beach vibes. At the end of the workshop, you will have 2-3 beautiful cards that you can share with family and friends. Lots of reference photos and embellishments will be available to spark your creativity. All painting materials will be supplied.

Have fun learning to play Ukulele. Please bring an acoustic Concert or Soprano Ukulele to class. You will learn very basic music reading and technique and will meet goals of performing simple exercises and songs in a group setting. No experience necessary. This class is a continuation of the Basics of Playing the Button Accordion, Level 1. In this session, students will advance to following basic music sheets with scales already learned and will be able to play easy songs while accompanied by a Bajo Sexto, played by the instructor.

Students must have their own button accordion in the key of GCF. Prerequisite for the class is the completion of Beginning Button Accordion Level 1. Ages 15+ welcome. Rentals are available at Alamo Music Center, contact Gary Smith (gary.smith@alamomusic.com or 210-538-9421) for pricing.

In this free class we will navigate you through the mysterious landscape of a sewing pattern. We will explain sewing symbols and common sewing terminology to help you better understand how to follow written instructions to complete a future project.
