This class introduces a dynamic, relationship-centered concept that blends the principles of the Positive Approach to Care (developed by Teepa Snow) with the improvisational mindset of “Yes, And.” At its core, this concept recognizes that when the brain changes, communication must change too. Rather than correcting, confronting, or trying to bring someone back to our reality, we learn how to step into theirs with curiosity and compassion.
“Yes, And” is not about pretending or agreeing with inaccuracies. It is about protecting dignity, preserving relationships, and creating emotional safety, especially when cognitive abilities are changing. By integrating brain science with improvisational awareness, this approach offers a practical and human way to navigate unpredictable moments with greater confidence, creativity, and compassion.
