The prevalence of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias continues to grow globally, impacting not only individuals diagnosed but also their families and surrounding communities. Treatment and prevention research is ongoing; but until there is a cure for dementia, community support for those affected is vital. Key topics include: - The importance of providing person-centered care in home and community-based services. - Behaviors as a form of communication: learn about common behaviors seen in people living with dementia and how to address underlying causes. - The Montessori for Dementia approach. - Dementia-friendly enrichment activities. - Community and social care efforts in Northeast Georgia.
